About ABCHY
Acton-Boxborough Coalition for Healthy Youth (ABCHY) is a nonprofit organization that formed in the spring of 2007 when it received a challenge grant from the Acton-Boxborough United Way. The funds are used to identify, publicize and develop programs and services in the area of adolescent at risk behavior.
Nine agencies came together to form the coalition understanding that communication between organizations and coordination among them is critical to make the best use of available resources. Each agency contributes to ABCHY's awareness of issues that confront adolescents and families by providing the experience of their agency's or group's perspective.

Together we share a common mission and vision to expand services and make them accessible to everyone in the community. We understand that no one organization can provide the solution for every need. We continue to build partnerships with other agencies that share our vision.
ABCHY wants to make sure that the approach to working with youth is coordinated, complementary and comprehensive. We anticipate that by engaging and focusing all the identified components of the community on healthy youth growth, the community will become more connected, more aware and supportive of each other's efforts. By working together, we hope that duplication of services can be avoided. Additionally, ABCHY will note where there are gaps in services and make recommendations about how those gaps can be addressed.
